1. Self-Introduction
After graduating from Chiba University Graduate School, joined Urban Design System (now UDS) in 2001. After working at Coplus Inc., returned to UDS Ltd in 2013 and has since been involved in a wide range of projects including architectural design, spatial design, and furniture design. Serving as Executive Officer of COMPATH since 2018.
2. What do you think is essential to make a city more enjoyable
When working on design and development, I believe it’s important to create plans and designs that embody a sense of identity—something that feels like a natural extension of the neighborhood.
This includes the unique character of the location, the building, and the era. By carefully interpreting and reconstructing these layers of “uniqueness,” we can create a new sense of identity, which in turn brings more vitality and enjoyment to the city.
3. What is essential to enjoying work?
Thinking things through to the very end, giving your full commitment, and working sincerely with knowledgeable and creative collaborators.
Also, taking action with a strong will that won’t be shaken by a few bumps along the way.
